Around Town

Ilfracombe is a captivating and friendly resort in a region renowned for its outstanding natural beauty.

The town has its own harbour, the Landmark Theatre with full entertainment programme,  night clubs, a cinema, a museum and plenty of great Eating places and ‘Watering Holes’.  It also offers a heated indoor Swimming Pool, Tennis Courts, Crazy Golf , a  promenade and a good selection of shops.

The Tunnels Beaches and Café Blue Bar are just 150 yards away.  The Tunnels were built in Victorian times with separate bathing facilities for men and women—but both beaches are now uni-sex.  The Café Blue Bar is a good place to relax while the children are playing in the safe play area.

Ilfracombe Aquarium is  on the harbour and a fantastic place on a rainy day, with excellent exhibits and very popular with children.

The Landmark Theatre

Chambercombe Manor is reputedly one of the most haunted dwellings in the UK, but with parts of the Manor dating back as far as 1066 there is plenty to see with many fine pieces of furniture and original feature as well as a lovely spacious garden.

From the Harbour there are many boat trips and fishing trips to be taken.  One of the most popular trips is to Lundy Island which is a piece of outstanding natural beauty with no cars, full of birds, a medieval castle, seals and so much more.  If you are staying on Lundy for a few days, then stay with us and then leave your car in our fre car park during your visit.

The Ilfracombe Princess Wildlife and Coastal Cruises and Blue Fin Charters have daily sailings from the harbour and frequently have sightings of Seals, Porpoises and Dolphins.
